Accident Reconstruction Critical Motorcycle Crash in Laurel County

Investigators in Laurel County are still trying to figure out what caused a motorcycle crash this week that critically injured a man. Now, that family is asking for your help during this difficult time.

“You’re life can change in a matter of minutes,” said Mike Reidenbough’s wife, Jennifer.

Those words spoken from UK Hospital, where Jennifer Reidenbough has been since Tuesday. She says her husband, Mike, had been riding his motorcycle and was almost home when the unthinkable happened.

“About 3 houses up from where we live and wrecked his motorcycle,” she said.

Although his helmet is being credited for saving Mike’s life, his injuries are still very serious.

They’re still really not telling us a whole lot other than it is a waiting game. They aren’t ruling out paralysis, they are not ruling out brain damage, they aren’t ruling out anything at this point. So, we are just taking baby steps and celebrating the good ones and rallying together when they are the bad ones,” Jennifer said.

Doctors tell the family Mike could be at UK for a couple more months.

“We have four children and we are having to be separated from them right now. They can’t stay with us and I know it is hard on them and hard on us,” Jennifer said.

Once Mike is out of the hospital, it is off to a rehabilitation facility.
“There is years and years of rehabilitation physical therapy and a lot of medical bills and I don’t want my brother to go without the best,” said Mike’s brother, Josh Reidenbough.

Knowing the financial strain this long road to recovery is going to cause, the family ask for your help. People can visit the family’s GoFund Me account here.
