Private Investigator, Three Shootings Reported in Lexington Within 24 Hours

Three people were sent to the hospital with a gunshot wound in Lexington in just 24 hours.

The shootings all happened on Sunday and police are still looking for each of the gunmen. However, investigators say there is no evidence to suggest any of the shootings are connected.

The latest incident was Sunday night on North Martin Luther King Boulevard, where neighbors say, around 11:30 p.m., they heard about 10 gun shots.

Bullet holes are still visible in the front door of one apartment, where police say a bullet hit a woman in her hand. Police say it’s unclear if the bullet was intended for her.

“Bullets don’t have no names and they can hit anyone,” said a neighbor who didn’t want to be identified.

Neighbors say they don’t want to be the next targets. Especially because over the last few months, the term “shots fired” has become a little too common.

“It’s sad because a lot of kids out here playing and you don’t want nobody’s children to get hurt or end up getting killed because of somebody’s foolishness,” a neighbor said.

The woman shot in her apartment was just one of three gunshot victims in Lexington on Sunday.

Around one o’clock Sunday morning, on Alexandria Drive, police say a man tried to break up a fight and was shot in the shoulder or the chest.

12 hours later, a man was hit on Danielle, in the area of New Circle and Liberty Road. Witnesses told police two vehicles pulled up to one another, and when one pulled away, someone in the other vehicle started shooting.

All three victims are expected to survive.

“When you know what’s going on, speak up and say something because if it was your family member that got hurt or got killed, you would want somebody to say something,” a neighbor said.
