Accident Reconstruction Father Pleads For Info About Fatal Accident

A father pleads for information in a crash that killed his daughter.

Mary Anne Reynolds-Drury died when police say two cars and her motorcycle collided on Leestown Road on May 31.

The dedicated wife and loving mother was taken too soon from her young son when she crashed her motorcycle less than a month before her son’s second birthday.

“If he mimics her in most of her life or all of her life, he’ll be a fine man,” said Rick Reynolds, Mary Anne’s father.

Shortly after midnight on May 31, police say Reynolds-Drury was out for a ride on her motorcycle when she hit the back of a BMW. Police say she then lost control of her bike and was hit when she crossed in front of an oncoming Humvee. While the driver of the Humvee stopped, the driver of the BMW did not.

“They ran away. The whole thing is terrible but that particular part hurts a great deal,” said Rick.

Lexington police are now looking for the driver who fled before police arrived. The car is described as a dark colored 1990’s model BMW. Investigators say the car lost its back bumper in the crash.

While the driver coming forward won’t fill the hole left by his daughter death, Rick hopes it will help begin the healing process.

“We can’t bring her back, but if we can reconstruct this and have a better understanding of what happened, it would make a huge difference for us emotionally and mentally,” he said.

Anyone with information about this vehicle, or this incident is asked to call the Lexington Police Traffic Section at 859-258-3666.
