Private Detective: Two Arrested and One Still On the Loose in Domino’s Shooting

Officials say they have arrested two people and continue to look for a third suspect in connection to a Domino’s Pizza robbery and shooting that sent one employee to the hospital with serious injuries.

19-year-old Rico Penix and 26-year-old Robin Adams were arrested Thursday morning in connection to the robbery and shooting of employee Zoe Reed at the Domino’s pizza on South Forth Street in Danville in September.

Penix was picket up at a home on Center Street in Harrodsburg and Adams was arrested at a home on Danville Road in Lancaster. Both are being held in the Boyle/Mercer County jail.

Officials say they continue to look for a third suspect identified as 21-year-old Patrick “Pepe” Brand of Danville. Brand is described as a black man about 5-foot-11 weighing 165 pounds.

All three are charged with robbery first degree and assault first degree.

Danville police say Zoe Reed was alone at the business just before 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 when the delivery driver was sent on an order to a fake address.

“When the driver came back he found her, and she was still conscious and she asked for help,” said one of Reed’s friends.

Friends said Reed had been shot in the stomach. She was taken to a local hospital and then to University of Kentucky where friends say she had multiple surgeries.

Reed spent her 21st birthday in the hospital fighting for her life.

Last month, Danville police set up a hotline to receive tips after they said they had few clues as to who pulled the trigger. There was no surveillance video from the apparent attempted robbery, although cameras are visible in the store. It appears the cameras were off or not working when the robbery and shooting happened.

The owner of the Domino’s Pizza store said once the business reopened he would make sure all surveillance system was working. He also offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

Danville police, Kentucky State Police and the ATF assisted in serving the arrest warrants Thursday morning.
