A hearing was held Friday for the man accused of fatally shooting a prominent defense attorney in Somerset this summer.
Attorneys met in a Pulaski County court to determine if Clinton Innabnitt, the man police say admitted to loading his gun and waiting for Mark Stanziano to show up for work to shoot him, is competent to stand trial.
The victim’s widow, Bethany Stanziano, says she knew her husband’s killer personally.

“There were days it was hard to tell what was going on through Clint’s mind,” she said. “I don’t know if he’s competent or not; I know that’s what they are addressing today. So I don’t know, we’ll see.”
Bethany now works out of the same office as her late husband and picked up his cases since his death on June 27.
“It’s very hard to walk into the office everyday and to retrace the path that he took that morning, and to walk over to where he fell,” she said.
Police say Inabnitt waited for Stanziano as he walked into work and fired off seven rounds, shooting Stanziano multiple times in the torso. A sheriff’s deputy reportedly saw the shooting and took Inabnitt into custody immediately.
Apparently, Inabnitt had approached Stanziano the night before about needing help and the attorney couldn’t help him. Police say Inabnitt had made previous threats toward Stanziano.
“I want Clint to go to prison for the rest of his life and, if he doesn’t go to prison for the rest of his life, then he needs to go to a mental institution so he can’t do this to anyone else,” Bethany said.
Inabnitt’s goes back to court in December.
