Missing Person Katy McDonald of Port Charlotte, FL

A Port Charlotte family is desperately searching for 34-year-old Katy McDonald.

She was last seen at her apartment on October 11th. Neighbors said she was doing laundry.

When family members went to check on her a few days later, Katy was gone.

“We’re very concerned,” Katy’s mother Gwen Alvarez said.

“It’s just like a stone instead of a heart it’s rough,” she added.

The 34-year-old has been living by herself.

Family members said her door was left unlocked, the lights were left on and her laundry was left in the machine.

“It’s unlike her to do something like this and just disappear.

This whole thing doesn’t make any sense to us we’re as a family very very concerned,” Katy’s brother Andrew McDonald said.

“She’s a very independent person she’s a very strong person but she is a small woman and it wouldn’t be hard for somebody to over power her,” Alvarez said.

Family members said Katy left no signs of where she went and her cell phone was broken.

Neighbor Robert Carroll said he found her keys behind a trailer.

Now, friends and family are hoping and praying for Katy to come home safe.

“She never knew a stranger so that’s a good thing but also can be a risky thing we’re hoping for a happy resolution Katy if you see this please give Andy or Matt a call,” Alvarez said.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Katy McDonald is asked to call the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office at 941-639-2101.
