A Kentucky man was killed after his car struck a minivan on a rain-soaked highway in Laurel County Friday morning.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Eric Grubb of London was pronounced dead at Corbin Regional Baptist Hospital.
Grubb was driving east on KY 770 around 8:20 a.m. Friday when he lost control of his car on the wet roadway, deputies said. The victim’s Pontiac G6 went off the left side of the highway and then downhill, striking a Dodge minivan with three people inside.
Deputies say the minivan was knocked off the road into a rock cliff.
The driver of the minivan, 32-year-old Tiffany Smith of London, along with her infant child and three-year-old nephew were transported to Baptist Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The fatal accident closed down a portion of KY 770 for more than two hours.
