A month has now passed since a 51-year-old rural Merrill man was reported missing. Jeffrey Maruska’s hasn’t been seen or heard from since Oct. 27. Investigators found his wallet, car and other personal items untouched.
Monday a dispatcher for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department said no new lead came in following the nine-day gun deer season despite more traffic in rural areas.
Investigators seemed hopefully Nov. 14 as they followed up on a tip a trail camera captured an image of man wearing a t-shirt walking through the woods near Maruska’s home. No one was located and investigators did not confirm the image was Maruska.

Maruska lives in the Town of Rock Falls north of the city of Merrill.
Authorities said they’re relying on tips from the public now more than ever. They still consider this a missing person’s case and don’t believe there’s any foul play.
