Police say a Clark County man tried to lure two young girls into his vehicle this past weekend, and what made it scarier for the would-be victims and their families is what police say they found inside the man’s truck.
According to Thomas Hamilton’s citation, police searched the attempted kidnapping suspect’s vehicle and found a couple of ropes, a folded towel, a pillow, a steak knife and a lot of plastic sheeting.
Winchester police got a call Saturday about a man who tried to pick up a 12 and 13-year-old girl at the corner of Lincoln Street and Hickman Avenue.

The girls told police the man stopped his white truck, opened the door and told them to get in. The girls ran away and Hamilton was found a mile way, police said.
Police say Hamilton admitted to driving around and that he saw the girls, but didn’t say anything to them when he stopped at a stop sign.
LEX 18’s Adam Yosim spoke with one of the girl’s who described what happened last weekend.
“It was a very scary thought. Very scary. I’ve never had that happen to me before. I didn’t know. I told him ‘no’ and I ran,” she said.
Hamilton declined an interview request from jail.
