Officers said there was a passenger in the van, a Clifford Dragoo, 51. Authorities have said the man is mentally disabled.
The black 2006 Chrysler Town and Country van was last seen heading westbound on Carothers Road.
Several witnesses attempted to stop the carjacking, officers said. Investigators were attempting to get the carjacker’s fingerprints from the cigarette cartons at the store.
