Police in Danville have made an arrest in the investigation of a gun violence threat at an unspecified Danville elementary school.
The Danville Police Department have arrested a 15-year-old male student at Boyle County High School. That student has been charged with Terroristic Threatening.
Police received a call from an employee of Enterprise Rent-a-Car located in St. Louis, Missouri. That Enterprise employee stated that she had received a call from an anonymous male caller stating that he had a bus load of children outside of a Danville Elementary School and was going to start shooting if he did not receive a ransom payment.

Danville Police, The Boyle County Sheriff’s Office, Junction City Police and The Kentucky State Police fanned out and began immediately checking multiple schools and notifying school officials so they could take appropriate precautions and make sure all children were accounted for. Once all children were accounted for and facilities inspected, schools continued in session.
Boyle County Superintendent Mike LaFavers released a statement confirming the arrest saying, “It is with much regret that I report that one of our students has allegedly been involved in making a terroristic threat against our district. Boyle County Schools will cooperate with local and state authorities who are conducting a full investigation into this unfortunate event. As this matter is an open investigation, I would ask that all further questions and inquiries be made to the city of Danville Police Department.”
