Private Detective: Fifth Man Arrested in Connection With Home Invasion

Another man is behind bars in connection with a Lexington home invasion that happened on Thursday at the Shillito Apartment Complex.
Police have now charged a total of five people with first degree robbery in the 48 hours after the invasion.
The man arrested Friday afternoon in the crime is John Berryman, 21.
According to his arrest citation, Berryman told investigators that he drove himself and another man to the victim’s house and was also involved in the attack.

The four other suspects involved are Timothy Cobb, 19, Preston Wells, 21, Jacobs Fields and Damien Davis, 24.
Police say the men knocked on someone’s door at the apartment complex in the middle of the night, claiming to be DEA agents.
They then zip-tied two Lexington men and ransacked their apartment. When officers arrived, the suspects jumped out of a window with a stolen handgun and cash.
They abandoned their car in front of the complex and that’s how police tracked them down.
Officials say that the victims were not injured.
