A Harlan County man is in jail after being charged with robbery.
Police in Evarts responded to a robbery call from the Marathon gas station. Workers told police that they had been robbed at gunpoint and the suspect had taken cash and ran out the front door.

One of the victims identified Timothy Hughes as the robber. After observing surveillance footage, police arrested Hughes.
According to the citation, police say that it appeared that Hughes was carrying a gun and a bag to put cash in. Upon arriving at Hughes’ father’s home, police discovered $245 worth of cash and the bag and clothes used at the robbery.
Hughes has been charged with robbery and tampering with physical evidence.
