A Barren County grand jury returned an indictment against the Monroe County man accused in the disappearance of a toddler. Anthony Barbour was indicted on charges of burglary, kidnapping and resisting arrest. However, none of the charges are related to the death or disappearance of Laynee Wallace.
So far, Barbour has only been indicted on charges related to holding a female against her will. At the time, police were searching for Barbour in connection to the missing child. He was taken into custody after police say a woman came home to find Barbour waiting for her.

Relatives say he forced her to drive him.
“Mr. Barbour was in her house and he had a rifle at that time and he asked her to get in the truck drive her to Glasgow,” said Carey Harvey, the victim’s cousin. “So she started down the road and the Kentucky State Police was going the other direction and happened to see him.”
Carey says the trooper noticed his cousin was not wearing a seat belt and pulled her over for a traffic stop. That’s when he noticed Barbour lying in the truck out of sight.
A short time later, Laynee’s body was found in a well near the home that Barbour shared with her mother.
In a statement from the Commonwealth’s Attorney, the investigation into Laynee’s death is still open. The Commonwealth anticipates presenting charges against Barbour at the next scheduled meeting of the Barren County Grand Jury.
Barbour has been arraigned on the charges and a $1 million cash bond has been set by the judge.
