Police have arrested and charged two woman in connection with the murder of an elderly woman in Rockcastle Country.

Deputies found Mary Hinton, 86, dead inside a home on Red Hill Road in Livingston Tuesday night. Investigators say she was murdered during a home invasion.

Police arrested Tabitha Howard, 30, and Kimberly Slusher, 35, and charged them with murder overnight.

Officials say the two women took off into the woods when police tracked them down Wednesday night. Officers caught them near the home of a relative along Copper Creek Road. That relative said both suspects live on Red Hill Road, near Hinton’s home.

Slusher faces charges including murder, robbery, burglary, tampering with physical evidence, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication/controlled substance, fleeing police and resisting arrest.
