Lexington police caught a woman after she escaped from the police wagon Tuesday afternoon.
Police say Joanna K. McGuire, 27, managed to slip out of her cuffs when she was in the back of the wagon. She escaped at the intersection of Tates Creek Road and New Circle Road by crawling through the emergency door on top of the vehicle.

Officers recaptured McGuire and charged her with escape.
Police did not say why they took her into custody in the first place, and her arrest citation listed no other charges.
