The caregiver accused of stealing medicine from an elderly couple appeared before a judge Thursday morning.
Amanda Shelton, 31, pleaded not guilty during her arraignment. Shelton was seen on camera pocketing medicine that was not her own.
The victim’s daughter tells LEX 18 that they became suspicious after Shelton would claim to “need to use the bathroom” repeatedly when visiting her parent’s house.

The family tried to catch Shelton once by hiding in a closet, but it was their second attempt that showed Shelton putting pills in her pocket.
Shelton is due back in court on August 27th.
