Authorities in Frankfort have recovered a badge and gun stolen from a Frankfort Police Department captain’s car.
In a press conference at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Friday, officials said a tip led them to the Glock 27. Officials would not say where they found the gun.
Friday morning, deputies found the badge in a wooded area.
The badge and gun were stolen from the locked, unmarked police vehicle parked in a driveway early Wednesday morning.

Authorities said they have several suspects and expect indictments on Tuesday. They also said deputies continue to look for one person.
Officials said they think this was a crime of opportunity and that the suspects were trying to sell the gun. Deputies said they don’t think the suspects had any intention of impersonating an officer.
