Private Detective: Man Charged With Shooting Ex-Wife in Wolfe County

Investigators in Wolfe County say a man shot his ex-wife then took off on a tractor.

State Police said Blanche Creech, 53, was shot in the chest on Wednesday morning on her property along Sandy Ridge outside of Campton.

Her friend, Donald Alexander said the victim was able to travel about a mile to his place on Kentucky 15 North.

“I just heard her beat on the door and then I got up and I went and opened it and she was laying on the porch,” Alexander told LEX 18’s Josh Breslow.

Alexander said his friend couldn’t tell him much before she was flown to UK Hospital.

“Just said she’d been shot. He shot her,” Alexander said.

The victim’s ex-husband, Teddy Creech is accused of shooting her, then taking off on a tractor. State Police said the 61-year-old suspect was still on that tractor when he was arrested. He is charged with first-degree assault.

A possible motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

As of Wednesday evening, Blanche Creech remained in critical condition at UK Hospital.
