Private Detective: Two Stolen Vehicles Recovered in Laurel County

Deputies in Laurel County are investigating after two stolen vehicles were recovered Saturday.

The first vehicle recovered was a 1997 Jeep Wrangler that was stuck in the mud on a farm off Howard Lane, about 5 miles east of London. The vehicle had been reported missing overnight from Mullins Avenue in South London.

Deputies say a dual-wheel closed cab John Deere farm tractor valued at $100,000 was stolen at the farm where the stolen Jeep was found. Witnesses reported seeing the tractor leaving at a high rate of speed between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. The tractor was later found abandoned on a farm off Ky 1189.

Witnesses say they saw a white male in his mid-20s with a goatee, wearing a ball cap and glasses drive the tractor onto the farm. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.
