A Boyle County man who claims to have ties with a local high school is accused of multiple sex crimes against an underage victim.
According to Danville Police, Bobby Cassady is charged with sexual performance by a minor, unlawful transaction with a minor and impersonating an officer.
According to his citation, Cassady coerced the minor to send sexually explicit photos and videos. When the victim threatened to tell, police say Cassady threatened to release the images and made reference to having arrest powers.

During the investigation, a second 15-year-old male victim was uncovered.
Cassady’s Facebook page states that he was an assistant coach at Danville High School and the he has done youth work at Gethsemane Baptist Church. Danville High School confirms that Cassady did volunteer with several sports team.
Gethsemane Church Senior Pastor James Gardner says that Cassady was a youth pastor who has since been relieved of his duties.
He’s being held in the Boyle County Detention Center.
