State Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Wolfe County that caused area schools to be shut down. The suspected shooter is still at large.
Kentucky State Police say they responded to a Shell Station after a report of a man with a gunshot wound. That man, identified a David M. Spencer, was taken to the hospital.

Officials determined the scene of the incident was at M And S Log Homes on Highway 15 in Pine Ridge. There, two other victims were found. David L. Spencer and Brenda Hatton were discovered with gunshot wounds. David L. Spencer was taken to the hospital and is in surgery. Hatton was pronounced dead.
KSP is still searching for the alleged shooter, identified as Preston Samuel Wilson. He is still at large.
Wolfe County Schools are cancelled due to the shooting investigation. “For the safety of our students, staff and families Wolfe County Schools will be closed today, Monday November 9, due to an ongoing investigation in Pine Ridge area,” reads a post on the Wolfe County School Board Facebook page.
