Police responded to the report of a shooting in the parking lot at the Dollar Store Plus on Lima Drive around 4:04 p.m. Tuesday.
They confirm that one man, 21-year-old Omari Sweat was shot. He was taken to UK hospital with two gunshot wounds in his back. His injuries are not life-threatening.
Police say the suspect drove off in a grey Nissan Altima. The investigation led to police identifying the suspect as Codie Calderon. The vehicle was found in the 500 block of Lin Wal Road but Calderon was not in it. He was found in the area of Buena Vista Road and Thunderstick Drive.

Calderon was charged with first degree assault, receiving stolen property and possession of a fire arm by a convicted felon.
Sweat was also charged with felon in possession of a firearm and tampering with physical evidence when he tried to dispose of a firearm before police arrived at the scene.
