Private Detective: Dog of Lexington Murder Victim Missing

The family of a Lexington homicide victim is searching for his missing dog and they have taken to social media to help find the canine.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office says 18-year-old Caleb Hallett died at UK Hospital after being shot last Saturday on University Avenue.

Witnesses say two men wearing masks fired the gunshots and then fled the scene in a white Jeep Cherokee. Hallet died at University of Kentucky hospital.

According to a post being distributed on social media, Caleb’s dog Blade has been missing since October of 2015. After Caleb’s death, his mother is hoping that someone will help her find her son’s beloved companion.

“This is Caleb Hallett and his dog BLADE, who has been MISSING since Oct in Lexington. Sadly Caleb Hallett was MURDERED last Friday evening while in his car. Nikki Hallett, his mother, has now lost 2 very special things she LOVED in her life. We have the POWER to help her through this grief period by bringing home BLADE”. As a mother, I can not imagine her loss but I can imagine a COMMUNITY coming together to help her find their dog, that meant a lot to Caleb as a way to honor him,” reads a post from family friend Debbie Wismatt.

Wednesday, warrants were issued for 21-year-old Kenyon Hipps, 18-year-old Marquess Smith and three juveniles. Two of the juveniles are in custody. Hipps, Smith and one of the juveniles are wanted for murder and robbery.
