The search resumed at 7 a.m. Saturday. Teams looking include those from the PCSO Auburn and Tahoe stations, Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue, Tahoe Avalanche dogs, Contra Costa County Search and Rescue, National Ski Patrol, and Sugar Bowl ski patrol.

PCSO officials said May got lost after his last ski run Thursday while working at the resort.

“He did not show up for his ride home, and it was discovered (Friday) morning that he never made it home last night,” according to a PCSO statement Friday. “His belongings are still in his locker at the resort.

“May was last seen wearing a blue Colombia jacket, bright green pants, and a blue helmet.”

Sugar Bowl officials on Friday said May was reported missing at about 10 a.m., once his friends realized he did not make it home the night before.

Ski patrol, PCSO officials and TNSAR volunteers began searching Friday morning by ski, snowmobile and Snocat, according to Sugar Bowl, focusing in and around the last known area of the missing skier.

A search helicopter was flying over there resort’s backside on Friday. It will return Saturday should weather conditions allow, according to PCSO.

“Sugar Bowl Resort is in communication with the family, and the active search for the missing skier is currently ongoing,” officials said Friday afternoon.
