One burglar never gave up when he failed in his first few attempts to break into a business on Eureka Springs.
“He brings with him a big rock and this guy isn’t going to win pitcher of the year or anything, he throws it twice at this window and it just bounces right off and comes back at him,” Detective Mark Thomas with the Lexington Police Department told LEX 18’s Kristen Pflum.
He even tried throwing his body weight at the window, which did not work.
The third attempt worked when he went to another window around the side of the store.

“This guy got lottery tickets, and some smokes and some quarter rolls,” said Thomas.”This is not a big score for anybody, but it goes to show you when these guys are hooked on drugs as bad as they are, breaking into stores like this. They’ll do anything just to get high.”
The burglar did not get away with much, but it is still a headache for the business owner because of the damage done to the store’s glass.
“If this guy has the nerve or gall, whether he’s intoxicated or high, if he’s predisposed to break into a convenience store in the middle of the night, you can bet he’s out there shoplifting and doing other crimes as well.”
Witnesses trying to sleep in homes near the business say that as the burglar fled the store, he was yelling, “come and get me, come and get me.”
Police describe the burglar as a white man, in his 20’s, around 5’8’’ and very thin.
