Wrongful Death Scott County Murder Case Continues

Police investigators continued their testimony in a Scott County murder case. Mindy Turner is charged with stabbing her boyfriend, Maxwell Pomeroy, at her stepfather’s home back in 2010. Turner told police that three black men broke into the house and stabbed Pomeroy to death, she was also wounded. But not long after that, police and other officials started questioning the home invasion story.

According the the Georgetown News Graphic, Scott County Coroner John Goble was the first to question Turner’s story. Goble told police that Pomeroy’s body temperature when he was found would indicate that he had been dead for about 2 hours before Turner called 911.

The News Graphic is also reporting that Police did not find any indication of a break in at the home. Half a dozen officers have testified so far in the trial. The trial resumed Wednesday morning.

Nine men and five women are on the jury and two jurors will be dismissed once the case is turned over to them for deliberations.
