Private Detective: Police and Fire Called To Lexington School Due to Suspicious Package

Lexington Police and Fire were called to an elementary school after staff members found a suspicious package on their campus.

Staff from Tates Creek Elementary School found an unidentified package on their campus this morning. According to a spokesperson with the Fayette County Board of Education, staff followed emergency protocols, contacted law enforcement and evacuating their students to the Tates Creek Middle School gymnasium.

The Lexington Police Department and Fire Department responded. For safety reasons, the police blocked off access to the Tates Creek campus, so no vehicles could enter or leave.

Police determined there was no threat and students and staff were able to return to their classrooms to resume learning
