Wrongful Death Man Killed After Shooting At Camelot East

A man has died after a shooting at a Lexington gentleman’s club, making it the fifth homicide of 2016.

It happened around 2:45 a.m. Friday morning, after a report of shots fired outside Camelot East. The coroner says that 23-year-old Laroz Lee Mitchell died from multiple gunshot wounds. Mitchell showed up at the hospital moments after the report of shots fired in the area.

The Coroner confirms that Mitchell arrived at St. Joe for treatment and was taken to UK where he was later pronounced dead.

Back at the scene, officers tell LEX 18 that there is no obvious damage and that they have found about five shell casings. They say when this unfolded, the club was already closed.

There have been multiple incidents at Camelot East and now neighboring businesses are growing frustrated at the amount of crime.

“It really comes at no surprise at this point, since it seems to happen so often,” Nathan Harrison, owner of nearby Life Brew Pub told LEX 18. “It does concern me with us opening up. Soon we will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner so we’ll be here early and we’ll be here late.”

There are no witnesses to the shooting. An autopsy is scheduled for later today.
