Police are investigating a morning robbery outside of a Lexington church.
The robbery took place at Cornerstone Baptist Church on Winchester Road just before 9:40 a.m Sunday, according to authorities.
Police say a woman, going to church, was approached by a man holding a knife who demanded her purse, stole it from her, jumped into a vehicle with another man and fled the scene.

Lexington Police say they were trying to stop a suspicious SUV that fit the description of the one involved in the robbery.
Authorities believe the SUV may have traveled into Scott County.
The suspects are described as two white males in their 30’s
Investigators say they discovered a pellet gun at the scene of the robbery but its connection to the crime is unclear.
