Private Detective: Danville Woman Arrested After Locking Grandchild Outside

A Danville woman has been arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, after police say that she left her granddaughter outside on the porch during a rainstorm.

Officers were dispatched to the home of Lisa Baugh where they discovered her granddaughter outside sitting on the concrete porch wearing only shorts and a t-shirt in the rain.The girl told police she had been sitting outside for about 20 minutes. She stated that her grandmother had started drinking and had gotten angry with her.

According to a citation, when officers made contact with Baugh, her eyes were glassy and she smelled strongly of alcohol.

Baugh told police that she couldn’t watch the girl, “because she can’t take it anymore.”

After Baugh was taken into custody, the officers took the the young girl to McDonald’s for dinner. According to a post on their Facebook page, “When attempting to purchase breakfast for the juvenile, an unidentified female employee, respectfully refused the officers’ payment. This employee took it upon herself to purchase the well needed meal and even offered the juvenile an extra portion of milk.”

Before the officer and juvenile left the restaurant, this same employee approached the juvenile and offered her a toy, which was gladly accepted Danville Police have publicly thanked the woman at the restaurant for her kindness.
