Danville Police responded to a pursuit that had originated in Pulaski County Thursday.
Deputies in Pulaski County were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a call about a man with a handgun standingĀ on somebody’s residence. upon arrival, deputies say the man ran away. He attempted to break into the residence but failed. He then stole a vehicle from a home on Hopeful School Road.

That is when the pursuit began.
Deputies were traveling toward Danville from Stanford on US 150.
Deputies believed that the suspect was armed with a handgun.
Police in Danville met the pursuit near the intersection of the Danville By-Pass and Gose Pike.
Spike strips were put across the roadway to slow down the stolen vehicle.
The suspect pulled into a Kroger parking lot where he was arrested and transported back to Pulaski county.
Christopher H. Smith, 31, of Nancy, is charged with burglary 1st degree, theft by unlawful taking (auto), operating a motor vehicle under the influence, fleeing or evading police 1st degree (motor vehicle), and 2nd degree (on foot), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, wanton endangerment 1st degree, reckless driving and speeding 26 mph over the speed limit.
