Private Detective: Man Accused of Robbing Donation Table Turns Himself In

The man wanted in connection with the robbery of a donation bin intended for disabled veterans turned himself in.

LEX 18’s cameras were the only ones on scene as David A Kirk Jr, 38, turned himself in. It happened at the Kroger on Bryan Station Thursday morning. Kirk let dispatch know he wanted to turn himself into officers.

Kirk is charged with first degree robbery in connection to the March 24 robbery of a donation bin outside of the Walmart on New Circle.

The victim told officers that the suspect got out of a pickup truck and approached the donation table. The suspect attempted to take the jar, but it was bolted to the table. He then grabbed the entire table, placed it in the bed of the truck and fled.

Kirk told LEX 18 to “tell his family he loves them” as he was being taken into custody.
