D.C. Police will continue their search for Relisha Rudd, the 8-year-old girl who went missing from her home at a city shelter in March 2014, near the National Arboretum.
D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier made the announcement at the Fifth District Police Station in D.C. this morning. The search is expected to begin today and carry over into Thursday.

Rudd’s alleged abductor, a man named Kahlil Malik Tatum, worked as a janitor at the shelter where Rudd’s family lived. He was found dead in Kenilworth Park in northeast D.C. in April 2014. Police say he committed suicide.
Further searching of the Kenilworth Park area did not turn up any signs of Rudd.
Tatum’s wife was found murdered in a Prince George’s County hotel room about two weeks prior to his body being found in the park.
