Lexington Police are looking for a man they say hit another driver and then took off. It happened on Russell Cave Road near Faith Street a little before 9 o’clock Sunday evening.
“I basically got T-boned,” said driver Earnest Smith.
Earnest Smith says he was on his way back home from stopping at McDonald’s when the man driving a hatchback crashed into him.
“He’s on the wrong side of the street. He comes up the other side of the road. Hits me right there at the turn,” said Smith.

Smith says he was shocked when the man took off.
“He got out of the car and ran cause he said, ‘oh sir I’m sorry, this is my mom’s car and I’m on probation and I can’t do this right now,” he said.
Luckily, no one was seriously hurt.
“A couple thousand dollars. He messed up here, my tire, my whole door,” said Smith.
Smith says he may go get checked out at the hospital just to be safe. As for the man who hit him, Smith says he hopes police catch up with him before he hurts himself or someone else.
“He was a white guy. Blue jeans on, can’t tell what shirt he had on. I can’t remember much about it. I was too much just thinking about calling the police to have my car taken care of,” said Smith.
If you have any information on the crash, you’re asked to call Lexington Police.
