A homicide investigation is underway after a dead body was discovered in rural Mercer County.
KSP was notified of the body found off of Deep Creek Road, west of Harrodsburg.
Tristan Cole, 17 years old of Harrodsburg was found fatally shot at 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night. Cole was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Mercer County Coroner.

The events that led to the shooting are under investigation and there have not been any arrests made. The Kentucky State Police is asking anyone that saw any suspicious activity in the area or with any information to call

Cole’s body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy.
