A Campbellsville man is behind bars after police say he tried to run over an officer.
Around 10:30 Friday night, police say they were trying to serve a warrant on 24-year old William Tompkins Junior, when he allegedly tried to hit Officer Jacob Hedgespeth with his car.
Investigators say the officer fired at Tompkins, who then fled the scene.

He was later picked up by state police and charged with attempted murder of a police officer and fleeing and evading police.
No one was injured in the incident.
