Wrongful Death Woman Accused in Double Murder of Parents Appears in Court

The woman accused of killing her elderly parents earlier this month is scheduled faced a judge Thursday.

Lynette McQuinn, also known as Renee, attended a preliminary hearing. McQuinn is accused of shooting 70-year-old  Robert John McQuinn and 66-year-old Ada Pearl McQuinn in their home on Wilson Lane at 11:30 a.m.

Prosecutors say that the way her parents were found murdered is the exact way McQuinn had previously threatened to kill them in the past.

Lynette’s sister Cristina found the bodies.

“I check on them every morning and I came across the street to check on them. And I walked in and seen them, I found them that way,” said Cristina.

Kentucky State Police said they had both been shot.  Cristina said she immediately knew her sister was responsible.

“She’s been mentally ill our whole lives and she has planned this. She planned it, that’s why they made her leave the last time she came here. She told them how she was going to kill them,” Cristina told LEX 18.

Detectives in court said that text messages prove that McQuinn was at the victims’ home around 1:20 a.m.  The murder weapon, a 9 mm Ruger was recovered in a field not far from the crime scene.

The couple was buried last week in Emmalena.
