Private Detective: Man Taken Into Custody After Multi-County Search For Kidnapping Suspect

Kentucky State Police and Lexington Police have taken in man accused of holding his wife and child against their will into custody.

Police began searching after a woman told a store owner in Richmond she was being held against her will.

The manager of LOVE’s Truck Stop in Richmond told police that a woman came in Thursday morning and told one of the clerks she was being held by her husband who was in the car. She got back into the car with the individuals.

The car in question was a gray Toyota Corolla. The vehicle was spotted in Lexington at the Thoroughbred Center. Police swarmed the grounds and found the suspect, identified as Jeff Rowland Sr.

Workers on site tell LEX 18 that the man is a long-time employee of the Thoroughbred Center.

Official sources believe the incident originally started in Clark County, where there is an extensive background of abuse.
