An emotional reunion between a father and his daughter was caught on camera but, hours later tragedy struck the Anderson County family.
Angel Myers says it took Humberto Hernandez a year and a half to come back to the Bluegrass after he was deported but he knew he wanted to surprise his four-year-old daughter, Celina.
Myers, Celina’s mother, says despite the distance Hernandez always kept in touch with their daughter.
On Friday, they surprised her with his homecoming, “when she was that choked up that she can barely say ‘daddy’ that made everything worth it.”

But in less than 24 hours their world collapsed.
Police say Jorge Garrete Serramo shot and killed Hernandez . Now Serramo is in jail charged with murder.
“He was such a great father,” Myers said. “I can’t even put it into words how good of a dad he was.”
As they hold on to those memories Myers hopes to raise enough money to give Hernandez a visitation so Celina can see her dad one last time to say goodbye.
