Hazard Police have taken a Perry County Central student into custody after threats of a shooting surfaced.
According to a post on the Hazard Police Department’s Facebook page, officers received information about a student alluding that a shooting would take place at the high school Monday.

The student is accused of making comments while at school last week about the threats.
As a result of the investigation, a student from the school has been charged with terroristic threatening and is being held at a juvenile detention facility until a hearing is held in front of a judge.
The juvenile’s name will be withheld. No other individuals were believed to be involved in the threat.
