“Although I cannot discuss an ongoing investigation, I can relate a few details. While performing their routine annual financial review, the leaders of the Tates Creek Elementary PTA  raised concerns about possible irregularities to the District PTA, State PTA and Fayette County Public Schools Department of Law Enforcement.  The State PTA conducted a financial review and submitted their preliminary findings to the Tates Creek Elementary PTA, the District PTA and FCPS Department of Law Enforcement. The matter is now in the hands of the Lexington Police Department. At all levels, the PTA takes these types of investigations very seriously and will take all appropriate legal steps.  The PTA considers its financial stewardship responsibility to our students and families as one of our top priorities, and we will continue to work with the Police in any capacity necessary throughout this process,” reads the statement.
