Police found her body Monday in the apartment that she shared with Elefritz.
He was first interviewed about her disappearance Sunday but was arrested after the discovery of her body. Police found Elefritz after loss prevention employees at Walmart discovered him allegedly stealing a 22-pound bag of dog food.
Once in custody, police say Elferitz tried to escape by attempting to open an exit door in the building. He was apprehended while trying to unlock the door.
Elefritz is charged with murder, shoplifting and third-degree escape.
