Police in Jessamine County were investigating a suspicious package that was found at a Nicholasville gas station Wednesday night. It turned out to be a severed deer head.
Officials tell us that a taped-up box was left at a gas pump at the B.P. on Catnip Hill Road sometime around 3 p.m and discovered hours later.

A hazmat team was called to the scene as a precaution before the package was opened, and all the gas pumps were shut down as police made a 300 feet perimeter.
Upon investigation, police discovered a severed deer head was inside the box.
The scene was cleared after they discovered what was inside.
