A mother charged with child abuse has pleaded guilty, according to the State-Journal Newspaper.
In July 2016 deputies said they went to Powell’s home and found her three children living in feces, bugs and filth. At least one of the children was reportedly suffering from severe developmental neglect in what Sheriff Pat Melton called one of the worst cases of child abuse he has ever seen.

Powell and her husband were both indicted on felony child abuse charges. The newspaper now reports Kimberly Powell has pleaded guilty to her charges. The Commonwealth recommended a five-year sentence.
