Wrongful Death Atlanta Man Charged in KY Native’s Death

A beloved musician and Kentucky native is dead and an Atlanta man is behind bars after a stabbing outside of an Atlanta storage facility.

Justin Hess, 31, appeared in court Monday to answer to his first murder charge, in the shooting death of his mother.

He faces a second murder charge in the death of Bowling Green native Bill Haynes. Haynes was a musician and teacher in Metro Atlanta.

Police say Hess stabbed Haynes to death at a storage facility in Sandy Springs. They believe it is because Hess liked the man’s car better than his own.

Haynes conducted the Alpharetta City Band, taught at Centennial High School, and then at E. Rivers Elementary School.

He was also an avid tri-athlete.

Hess is expected to gain more charges.
