Identity Theft Knoxville, IA Man Charged

A Knoxville man has been arrested after he illegally used the identity and credit card of a deceased man to buy more $2000 worth of items and services around Knoxville.

Knoxville Police Officers spoke to a victim December 19 who told them Andrew Jordan Roorda of Knoxville had been using the credit card of her late husband at local businesses and for online shopping. Surveillance camera footage showed Roorda buying 37 items and services at Walmart, the Super 8 Motel and other locations. The total cost of the charges was $2270.78. Roorda is charged with identity theft, forgery, theft by credit card and theft in the second degree, all class D felonies. As well as money laundering, a class C felony, and ongoing criminal conduct, a class B felony.
