Fraud Investigation Paramedic Faces Drug And Credit Card Fraud Charges

Middlesboro Police say a local paramedic caught with drugs was using a city credit card to fill his personal vehicles.

According to an arrest citation obtained by WRIL, Brian Melton, 42, a paramedic with the Middlesboro Fire Department, used the a city credit card to pump $1,025.52 worth of gas into his vehicles from November 29, 2016 until March 6th.

Police say they found a baggy with meth and the city’s credit card in Melton’s vehicle. Officers say a test of a plastic baggie in Melton’s wallet also fieldĀ tested positive for meth.

Melton was arrested and charged with fraudulent use of a credit card, possession of controlled substance & possession of drug paraphernalia.
