The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pedestrian killed on I-71 early Saturday morning.
A spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office says first responders found the body of a 46-year-old Florence, Kentucky woman after being called around 4:15am to I-71 near mile marker 74.
Investigators believe the woman drove her car to that area then stepped out or laid in front of oncoming traffic. Reportedly whoever hit her did not stop or call police.

Part of the roadway was shut down for about three hours while authorities worked to investigate.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office says they inspected the truck of the person who called, they don’t believe that driver is the one who hit her. They say while they believe this was a suicide, they need to find the vehicle responsible to finish their investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call 859-334-2175. The identity of the woman who died has not yet been released.
