Private Detective: Man Indicted For Stabbing Caregiver, Not Competent to Stand Trial

A mentally disabled man indicted for the death of his caregiver has been found not competent to stand trial, according to The News Enterprise.

Deputies say 32-year-old Lindale Cunningham admitted to stabbing 66-year-old Sally Berry more than a hundred times with a steak knife back in January.

The paper reported in March that the court ordered a psychiatric evaluation. The prosecutor filed a motion on Wednesday for an additional evaluation, arguing for Cunningham to be placed in a state facility.

The evaluation has been sealed and is unavailable to the public.
